The role pertains to the Platform Team in Aereo whose charter is to build and maintain our cloud-based enterprise SaaS platform, Aereo Cloud. Aereo Cloud is a powerful platform that enables organizations to store, manage, visualize, and analyze their drone-based geospatial data at the scale and generate critical and actionable business insights based on this data. 

About the Role: 

We are looking for a passionate DevOps Intern with hands-on experience in AWS, Terraform, ECS, and networking to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn automation, optimize cloud deployments, and support scalable infrastructure. Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI is essential, while familiarity with Azure will be considered a plus. 

Responsibilities: 

• Assist in provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform. 

• Work with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Batch, and others. 

• Help deploy and manage containerized applications on Amazon ECS (EC2 or Fargate). 

• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD. 

• Collaborate with developers to automate deployment workflows and troubleshoot environment issues. 

• Configure and maintain networking components including VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers, and routing. 

• Monitor cloud resources and optimize cost and performance. 

• (Optional) Contribute to projects involving Azure cloud environments. 

Requirements: 

• Strong understanding of AWS core services (ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Batch, etc.). 

• Practical knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. 

• Good understanding of networking fundamentals — DNS, routing, firewalls, NAT, load balancers, and VPNs. 

• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD. 

• Familiarity with Linux systems and basic shell scripting. 

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to automation and reliability. 

• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to fast-paced environments. 

Good to Have: 

• Exposure to Azure cloud services. 

• Basic experience with Docker and containerization concepts. 

• Scripting knowledge in Python or Bash.
