Job Summary
We are seeking a Mine Surveyor to carry out accurate survey operations using conventional and drone-based methods for mining applications. The candidate will work with Total Station, DGPS, and drone-derived datasets to generate precise terrain models, monitor mine progress, and support activities such as volumetric analysis, planning, and compliance.
The role involves working with survey data, photogrammetry and TLS (terrestrial Leaser scanner) outputs to extract mining features, validate field measurements, and ensure accurate representation of mine topography.
The role requires hands on experience in mine surveying, topographic surveys, volume calculations, bench monitoring, data validation, Plans and Maps analysis using industry standard tools and software.
Key Responsibilities

Survey Operations & Analysis
-
Conduct topographic and mine surveys using Total Station, DGPS, and drone survey data.

Establish and maintain survey control points (GCPs and benchmarks).
-
Perform periodic surveys for mine progress and reconciliation.

Coordinate with drone teams for aerial survey data acquisition.

Validate and utilize drone-derived outputs such as orthomosaics, DSM, DTM, and volumetric analysis.

Validate and utilize TLS (terrestrial leaser scanner) output as point cloud data and volumetric analysis.

Integrate survey data into GIS and cloud platforms.
-
Process survey data using relevant software tools.

Prepare survey drawings, maps, and reports.
-
Maintain accurate records of survey data and calculations.
Mining Measurements & Analysis
-
Carry out stockpile volume calculations, excavation analysis and dump analysis.
-
Monitor bench levels, slope stability, and pit progression.
-
Extract features like toe, crest, haul roads, and plan Vs actual.
Quality Control & Compliance
-
Ensure accuracy and consistency of survey data.
-
Follow mine safety regulations and statutory requirements.
-
Support audits and compliance reporting.
Required Skills

Strong knowledge of mine surveying principles and practices

Experience with Total Station, DGPS, and drone survey data

Understanding of coordinate systems and projections
-
Good knowledge of mining operations and terminology
Software & Tools

Experience with the following tools is preferred:

Qualifications
Diploma / bachelor’s degree in geology, Civil Engineering Survey Engineering or related field.
Experience

1–3 years of experience in mine surveying or related field

Experience in open-cast mines preferred

Exposure to drone survey workflows is an added advantage
